For the last few weeks we have been hearing rumours regarding the opening of the popular online poker room, PokerRoom that was forced to close down in 2009 for financial reasons. After nearly ten years in operation players were unhappy to see the popular poker website close down, as it had been one of the first online poker rooms to give the players the experience of playing for real money online – and also one of the first to develop online poker play that was Mac friendly.
The first indication that something big was in the works came from a tweet that indicated that the SEO of bwin was excited that the opening was in the works. The tweet was quickly removed and the SEO stated that he might have been ahead of himself – but rumours and speculation were in the works as a banner for the website had been changed from one directing the players to PartyPoker, to a banner that said the website was coming back to the future. For players that have experienced the online game play that comes with PokerRoom, this means only one thing – PokerRoom was making a comeback and they would soon be able to play at one of their favourite cash poker websites.
Though the banner had been changed players were once again speculating, as were popular poker forums and news websites, at the return of the poker giant. Representatives of PokerRoom didn’t go as far to confirm or deny whether the website was going to be making a comeback, but they did say that they would have an open mind about it and were considering it.
This, combined with the fact that the website is now ‘under construction’ leads us to believe that PokerRoom is going to be back – and back sooner than later. Welcome back PokerRoom.
